Rules
Summary based on community rulebooks (The Lookout, v1.4), reconstructed from the Gen Con 2026 demos. This is not the official Bandai rulebook and may change before release.
Deck construction
- 1 Leader + 50 cards in the deck + 5 Chakra cards + 1 Summon card.
- Chakra and Summon cards are not part of the deck: they start the game in play.
- Every card in the deck must be the same colour as the Leader.
- Maximum copies per card: not confirmed (the demo decks had 3 copies of each card).
Card types
- Leader: DMG, POW and LIFE; has a Recovery effect.
- Character: DMG, POW, HP, often a SUPPORT effect with a Chakra cost.
- EX-Character: cannot be summoned normally, needs its Summon Requirements.
- Chakra: 5 per player, used to pay costs.
- Summon: 1 per player, rested to summon a Character.
How to win
A player loses when their Leader reaches 0 LIFE or their deck reaches 0 cards.
Turn phases
- Start
- Refresh: cards return to Active (face-down Chakra cards do not flip back).
- Draw: draw 2 cards. On turn 1 the first player draws 1 and the second player draws 2.
- Main: summon and attack in any order.
- End
No player can attack on their own turn 1, not even with RUSH. The second player may take one full mulligan.
Combat
- Only Rested Characters can be attacked; the attacker's POW is subtracted from their HP.
- Damage stays until the end of the turn, then HP returns to full.
- Attacking the Leader deals DMG to its LIFE. There is no blocking.
Attack Declaration → Effect Declaration → Support Cut-in → Damage Step.
Support and Chakra
- Costs are paid by turning face-up Chakra cards face down, always before the effect applies.
- The turn player can use Supports from hand or from the Support Area; the other player only from the Support Area (max 5 face-down cards).
- Chains resolve from the last effect to the first.
- Recovery: from the second turn on, rest your Leader and turn all your Chakra cards face up.
Keywords
- QUICK: can be played in any valid Support Cut-in window.
- RUSH: can attack on the turn it enters play (never on turn 1).
Not confirmed yet
- How an attack is declared and who can attack the Leader.
